Inova Schar Cancer Institute – Peterson Family Breast Center
The new Inova Schar Cancer Institute — Peterson Family Breast Center is located on the Inova Loudoun Hospital Medical Campus. It joins subspecialized physicians and clinicians who are dedicated to excellence in breast care – from screening and diagnosis to clinical trials and genomics.
Services include comprehensive breast imaging, breast navigators, genetic counseling, and Inova’s unique Life with Cancer® program. All mammograms are read by dedicated fellowship trained breast imagers.
The Inova Schar Cancer Institute — Peterson Family Breast Center further enhances the patient’s experience and complements Inova Loudoun Hospital’s existing accredited breast program. Breast Imaging
Inova Loudoun Hospital offers breast imaging services at multiple centers across Loudoun County – each accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). We offer the full spectrum of care – from routine screenings to the most advanced follow-up exams and our radiologists are specially trained in breast imaging interpretation and intervention. Cancer Services
In affiliation with the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) offers coordinated, comprehensive cancer therapies – close to home. Our hospital is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer (NAPBC). Our radiation oncology program is an accredited center of excellence (APEx) by the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).

Loudoun Community Health Center
The Loudoun Community Health Center provides access to comprehensive, cost-effective primary and preventive health care and related patient care services to anyone in need, regardless of age or ability to pay. We strive to break the barriers to affordable health care and to reduce health care disparities in our community.
Services Offered: Family medicine, prevention & wellness care, dental care, mental health and substance abuse counseling, prescription assistance, care management, laboratory, radiology and specialty referral. All patients can expect to receive the highest level of quality care and to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their socioeconomic status. DC Metro Area – Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center
The Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the largest and most well respected breast cancer research programs in the world. Currently, Lombardi is ranked 8th in the world for breast cancer scientific publications and is home to many of the top breast cancer researchers and clinicians in the United States. Minetta Liu, MD, associate professor of Medicine and Oncology is one such example of Lombardi’s breast cancer excellence. Dr. Liu’s research on Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC), has resulted in the development of a simple blood test that measures CTC levels to effectively monitor disease progression. This test promises to revolutionize the way doctors monitor tumor progression in breast cancer patients leading to fewer invasive procedures, reduced healthcare costs and improvements in patients overall quality of life.
The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital, seeks to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer through innovative basic and clinical research, patient care, community education and outreach, and the training of cancer specialists of the future. Lombardi is one of only 40 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the only one in the Washington, DC, area. The director of the Cancer Center is Louis M. Weiner, MD.
