The Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation raises funds for Fauquier, Loudoun and surrounding county residents and nonprofit organizations through direct donations and special events.
As a member of the CBBC Board and a woman who has experienced the kind of assistance they can provide for someone going through “a breast cancer journey” I am grateful that this time around they were there as a resource for me and my family!
Being a member of the Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation Board is a very significant part of my life. Coming from a family that has been impacted by breast cancer, I feel as though I have a meaningful purpose in my community by serving as a board member and volunteering at events. It is a humbling experience to know that a little time I take out of my life can significantly impact other families and survivors of breast cancer.
Being apart of the Cherry Blossom community has helped allow me to be more active and hands on with supporting the courageous women while they fight one of the toughest battles. The Cherry Blossom walk that the the community puts on means a lot to me. Walking a few footsteps can go a long way to help a these women with breast cancer or a dear relative.
Last summer, care was provided to a 26 year old woman who was going to be maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding. As a result of receiving cold cap therapy through our program and the Inova Schar Cancer Institute infusion clinic, this young woman was able to keep her hair and participate fully with confidence in her friend’s wedding.
